Start With the Mattress Construction

Bonding felt or nonwoven fabric to a spring unit may require stronger wet tack because uneven surfaces provide a smaller effective contact area.

Run Production-Based Bond Tests

After bonding, assess the samples immediately and again after conditioning. Compressing or roll-packing a trial mattress helps reveal separation that may not appear on a flat sample. Heat-aging and cold-storage checks are also valuable when products will travel through different climates.

Compare Total Usage Cost, Not Price Per Kilogram

Lower material price does not automatically mean lower bonding cost. Poor spray control, heavy coating weight, nozzle blockage, rework, and layer separation can increase the true cost of every mattress produced. A more efficient formula may achieve the required bond with less adhesive and fewer interruptions.

When consulting a mattress adhesive supplier, provide substrate samples, target coating weight, line speed, operating temperature, packaging method, and destination climate. These details support accurate product selection and reduce the risk of expensive changes after mass production begins.
