Bookbinding machines need adhesive that can form a clean spine, hold pages firmly, and keep books stable after trimming, packing, storage, and repeated opening. The right choice is not based only on glue strength. It depends on paper type, spine milling quality, book thickness, machine speed, glue tank temperature, side gluing needs, and the final use of the finished book.

Hot melt adhesive open time refers to the workable period after glue is applied and before it loses enough tack to stop forming a reliable bond. This short window is critical in packaging, carton sealing, labeling, filter assembly, woodworking, and automatic bonding lines.

Poor adhesion in packaging usually appears as carton flaps opening, weak side seams, loose labels, glue peeling, uneven bead lines, or packages failing after stacking.
